If you are a Kings fan, your viewing agenda Friday night is fairly straightforward. Game 6, and the defending Stanley Cup champs’ first opportunity to eliminate the St. Louis Blues, will be on Prime Ticket at 7 p.m.
If you’re a Dodgers fan? (Or, alternately, a fan of the Miami Marlins’ four local players, Rob Brantly, Greg Dobbs, Ricky Nolasco and Kyle Skipworth?) You’ll have to hunt for tonight’s Dodgers-Marlins series opener.
Here are the alternate channels that will carry Vin Scully’s call, according to the LA Times — except that on Time Warner’s channel finder for its Inland cable systems, the only Dodgers-Marlins listings are for the MLB Extra Innings channels, which require an extra subscription.
(Funny. You’d think Time Warner, which is committing to a big money contract with the Dodgers beginning next season — pending MLB approval — would go above and beyond to get the game on the air. Or that maybe the Dodgers would have shifted this game to over-the-air Channel 9.)
Likewise, there is no listing on Charter Communications’ channel finder for a Prime Ticket alternate channel. Which suggests that maybe IE Dodger fans should say the heck with it and go out to Lake Elsinore, where Zack Greinke is scheduled to throw around 75 pitches in a rehab start for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes against the Storm in a 7 p.m. game.
Angels and Ducks fans have no such conflict tonight. The Angels play the White So in Chicago on Fox Sports West at 5, and the Ducks’ Game 6 in Detroit is on KDOC/Channel 56 (check your cable/satellite system for channel placement), also at 5.
